Featured Professional specialisations

Certified Humanitarian Parachutist (CHP)™

The Certified Humanitarian Parachutist (CHP)™ certification from the Register of Humanitarian and Stabilisation Professionals (RoHSP)™ is the first certification of its kind. The RoHSP™ recognised that parachuting certifications were primarily in the realm of the military, and there was utility in recognising persons, of all backgrounds, who complete a requisite number of ‘jumps’.

Generally, the minimum requirements is for at least five (5) static line jumps, under round and/or square canopy, where physical CHP™ brevets (‘parachutist wings’) may be issued to persons who complete this.

Certified Humanitarian Drone Operator (CHDO)™

The Certified Humanitarian Drone Operator (CHDO)™ certification from the Register of Humanitarian and Stabilisation Professionals (RoHSP)™ is the first of its kind for operators of Unmanned Systems (drones, UAVs, UAS, RPAS) in humanitarian settings.

The qualification was designed with experts from civil society, and is aimed for persons working in humanitarian aid, law enforcement, search and rescue, assessment and mapping, civil defence and protection, and all other peaceful uses of unmanned systems in a humanitarian context.

In order to qualify persons just demonstrate professional experience in the operation of drones with either a minimum of 50 hours of flying time or a minimum of 100 flights total. Evidence of this should preferably be provided through provision of scans from a log book.

For more information, please contact us.

Certified Civil Defence Professional (CCDP)™

The Certified Civil Defence Professional (CCDP)™ certification from the Register of Humanitarian and Stabilisation Professionals (RoHSP)™ is the most senior professional qualification for persons working in civil defence and protection.

The focus of civil defence in the modern age is on emergencies and disasters, but human conflict, and complex emergencies (combing disaster and conflict) still persist. The concept of civil defence can also be described by a number of different terms, such as crisis management, emergency management, emergency preparedness, contingency planning, civil contingency, civil aid, and civil protection.

The yellow circle with blue triangle (as depicted to the left) is the international distinctive sign of civil defence, defined by the rules of international humanitarian law to be used as a protective sign.

Many public civil defence organisations have been downsized, or entirely closed, after the end of the Cold War. Due to this, civil society organisations have started to fill the gap. After numerous requests to help structure the civil defence sector for non-governmental organisations to work alongside public sector responders, the RoHSP™ has developed the below suggested structure for ranks within civil society organisations involved in civil defence/civil protection that wish to reflect a public-sector/military hierarchy in their operations.

  • OF-5: Chief Civil Defence Officer (CCDO)
  • OF-4: Civil Defence Officer (CDO)
  • OF-3: First Officer (1st Off.)
  • OF-2: Second Officer (2nd Off.)
  • OF-1: Third Officer (3rd Off.)
  • OF-D: Cadet (Cdt)

The Certified in Combat Trauma for Civilians (CCTC)™ certification from the Register of Humanitarian and Stabilisation Professionals (RoHSP)™ is the first of its kind for civilians and others involved in medical aid provision in combat and other crisis settings.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

What is CPD?

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is the holistic commitment of professionals towards the enhancement of personal skills and proficiency throughout their careers.
The RoHSP is committed to ensuring the continued development of all professionals we certify. Therefore, it is a strict requirement to complete and submit evidence to renew your certifications

Why CPD?

It is extremely important to continually develop throughout our humanitarian careers, as we all continue to drive forwards the professionalisation of the sector. Engaging in CPD ensures that both academic and practical qualifications do not become out-dated or obsolete; allowing individuals to continually ‘up skill’ or ‘re-skill’ themselves, regardless of occupation, age or educational level.

Please note that RoHSP™ Fellowship and Companionship are separate and distinct from the Order of Humanity™

ORDER OF HUMANITY

The Register of Humanitarian and Stabilisation Professionals™ (RoHSP™) recognised the need to award those who have gone above and beyond in the service of humanity. As the world’s only register of professionals in the fields of humanitarianism and stabilisation work, the RoHSP™ was the obvious home for such an award, and the Order of Humanity™ was established.

The Order is awarded in four grades: Member (4th class), Companion (3rd class), and Grand Companion (2nd class), and Grand Cordon (1st class). The Order is only awarded to those who display the utmost levels of extraordinary and outstanding charitable and humanitarian work, and for inspirational leadership.

The Order is an order of merit. It is conferred upon an extremely limited number of persons, for whom this special distinction seems to be the most appropriate form of recognition. The award is an honour disassociated from the acceptance of a title of chivalry, and is an award from a charitable institution.

All grades of the Order may be issued with an honorary device (oak leaf) if awarded for bravery/gallantry. All grades of the Order have no annual fees nor any CPD requirements to the Register. All insignia is custom made by the world-renowned Spanish artisans Condecoraciones y Coleccionismo. Please also note that Fellowship (FRoHSP™) and Companionship (CRoHSP™) of the RoHSP™ are separate to the Order of Humanity™.

GRADES OF THE ORDER

  1. Grand Cordon of the Order of Humanity™ (postnominals: GC*OH) is the rarely awarded most senior grade of the Order, and is reserved only for those for extraordinary service to the Order and RoHSP™ as well as in the field of humanitarian and charitable leadership, usually requiring a minimum of CHSM™ status and/or Fellowship (FRoHSP™) of the RoHSP™. It is most often granted as a lifetime honoris causa award.
  2. Grand Companion of the Order of Humanity™ (postnominals: GCOH) is normally the most senior grade awarded in the Order from RoHSP™, and is awarded in recognition of long-standing and meritorious service in the field of humanitarian and charitable professionalism.
  3. Companion of the Order of Humanity™ (postnominals: COH) is awarded by RoHSP™ for long service and good conduct in the field of humanitarian and charitable professionalism.
  4. Member of the Order of Humanity™ (postnominals: MOH) is awarded by RoHSP™ for dedicated services in the field of humanitarian and charitable professionalism.
